Join us for an enriching day dedicated to the fascinating discipline of scent work—a mentally stimulating activity that taps into your companion's natural abilities while strengthening your partnership. ## Workshop Overview This comprehensive workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of scent detection work, from basic principles to practical applications. Whether new to scent work or seeking to refine existing skills, this program offers valuable insights and hands-on practice. ## What You'll Learn ### Morning Session (10:00 AM - 12:30 PM) Understanding Canine Olfaction - The science behind your companion's extraordinary scenting abilities - How dogs process and discriminate odors - Recognizing scent work behaviors and body language Foundation Training Techniques - Introducing target scents using positive methods - Building search drive and motivation - Establishing clear communication signals ### Lunch Interval (12:30 PM - 1:00 PM) Light refreshments provided. Opportunity for questions and discussion. ### Afternoon Session (1:00 PM - 3:00 PM) Practical Applications - Container searches - Interior searches - Handling challenges and problem-solving - Advancing to more complex scenarios Individual Coaching Each team will receive personalized feedback and guidance from our certified scent work instructors. ## Who Should Attend This workshop accommodates all experience levels. Whether completely new to scent work or seeking to enhance existing skills, you'll find valuable instruction tailored to your current abilities. ## Requirements - Participants must be current club members or accompanied by a member - Dogs should have basic obedience foundation (sit, down, recall) - Current vaccinations required - Limit: 12 teams to ensure personalized attention ## Investment Members: $125 per team Guests: $175 per team Fee includes all materials, target scents, equipment use, lunch, and comprehensive handout materials. ## Registration Limited spaces available.
